Feezy is a B2B SaaS-enabled marketplace that helps universities & colleges negotiate commissions directly with trusted education agents in return for the supply of qualified international students. Our platform has users in over 70 countries and is unique in the $430Bn education sector.

We operate lean, move fast, and aim to solve real problems for users. We're now seeking a lead developer. You will be someone who codes confidently, thinks independently, and sees AI tools as critical levers providing advantage.

At the time of writing we are building an AI-enabled commission optimisation tool and integrated digital contracting (Docusign API).

 

Sector Overview

International student recruitment still operates largely on a 1990s sourcing model. Universities rely on agents to source most of their new international students, and agents are paid a finder-fee-commission in return. This commission is defined in 12-month or longer offline contracts, meaning no digital price competition amongst agents, or responsive pricing based on supply/demand conditions, is possible.

Individual universities can spend $50M+ or even $100M+ every year on these commissions. Feezy was created to drive optimised commission pricing, though this digital model enables multiple other benefits (e.g. diversified classrooms, and earlier access to finite supply).

We're a modern B2B marketplace paired with SaaS enablement, in a challenged sector increasing its adoption of innovative solutions. Our product offering continues to evolve, and we remain early-stage.

 

The Role

You will help shape our product and technology strategy; we are seeking a pro-active problem-solver who will help us to resolve real challenges for our customers. You'll help define our architecture and features, with a high level of autonomy and influence.

You will be an AI-native engineer who actively uses and integrates AI tools into your workflows, and sees how AI can enhance user experience and speed up the development processes. You will champion data-driven decision making to validate hypotheses and guide product direction.

This is a Sydney-based role with a flexible work arrangement so you need to be ready to be present in the office 1-2 days per week when required. We value each other's time, however, and our main priority is to ship high-quality software. We won't meet for the sake of meeting.

 

What You’ll Do

• Design and build new features end-to-end across both frontend and backend stacks
• Prototype quickly, test, and iterate on real user needs
• Integrate AI tools into both your own workflows and platform features
• Shape architectural decisions and dev practices, building on existing development
• Play a leading role in platform cost management & optimisation
• Talk to users and use the product regularly to stay close to the problem
• Drive rapid learning and experimentation cycles

 

Technical Skills & Experience

You will be confident working across the stack and enthusiastic about learning fast:

Core Technologies:

• Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask, etc.)
• TypeScript (especially React)
• AWS (Lambda, S3, API Gateway, DynamoDB)
• Git, CI/CD workflows

AI & Automation:

• Active use of AI code assistance tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) in coding, documentation, and problem-solving
• Familiarity with integrating LLM APIs, vector search and RAG patterns

Nice to Haves:

• Experience building SaaS or marketplace products
• Knowledge & experience of marketplace network effects
• Infra-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CDK)
• Prompt engineering or fine-tuning experience
• An interest in UX principles, esp. re: onboarding & activation
• A genuine interest and curiosity in the problem we are trying to solve
